Hotels and Accommodation

From Chinatown and Little Italy to the bustling Financial District, Toronto offers a wide range of accommodation options to suit every budget. The University of Toronto is actively working to secure special rates at some of the city’s nicest hotels for Congress attendees and their families.

As it stands, we currently have confirmation from Victoria College, where guests can stay in suite-style dorm rooms — right on campus in the heart of Toronto — at a reduced rate. The rates are listed below.

Victoria College

Staying at Victoria College offers a unique opportunity to experience one of the University of Toronto’s most historic residences while remaining just steps away from all World Congress of Business History events.

The Congress has secured a limited number of rooms at Victoria College for delegates. Guests will also have access to essential on-site services, including common rooms, shared kitchens, laundry facilities, and the campus dining hall.

Getting to and Around Toronto

We look forward to welcoming you! Here are the best ways to navigate the city

✈️ Arriving at Pearson Airport (YYZ)
Option 1: UP Express (Fastest to Downtown)
The UP Express train connects the airport to the subway (including Line 2/Bloor, connecting to the University of Toronto) and to Union Station (downtown core) in just 25 minutes. It runs every 15 minutes
Visit UP Express Website

Option 2: Taxis & Rideshare (Best for Groups/Luggage)
If you have heavy luggage or are travelling in a group, a Taxi (flat rate zone fares) or Uber/Lyft might be more convenient for door-to-door service.

🚇 Getting Around: The TTC (Subway & Streetcars)
Toronto’s public transit is safe and covers the whole city. You have two easy ways to pay:
• Contactless (Easiest): Simply tap your credit card, debit card, or mobile wallet (Apple/Google Pay) on the reader
• PRESTO Card: You can also buy a reloadable PRESTO card at subway stations or Shoppers Drug Mart locations. This is a good option if you prefer not to use your bank card directly

☀️ Weather in July
July in Toronto is vibrant and sunny! Expect warm temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C (77°F - 86°F). It can get a bit humid, so pack light, breathable clothing. However, conference venues are air-conditioned, so bringing a light layer or cardigan for indoor sessions is always a good idea
